Brian serves as the lead instructor for the Conway Shield Training Division and an instructor for Leadership Under Fire. He is a 20 plus year veteran of the Milwaukee Fire Department, currently serving the rank of Battalion Chief. He has been an instructor of Engine, Truck and Rescue Company operations for the department’s training academy, an instructor at FDIC Indianapolis and the State of Wisconsin REACT Center.
Tim Miller
Tim is a 35-year veteran of the fire service. Tim served with both the West Milwaukee and Milwaukee Fire Department prior to his retirement in 2020. In addition to his firefighting experience Tim has been involved in technical rescue since 1993. He has been a frequent instructor for both the department’s technical rescue team and training academy. As an instructor for Conway Shield, he shares his extensive real-world experience with firefighters looking to improve their skill set.
Steve Scherer
Steve retired in 2020 as a 27-year veteran of the Milwaukee Fire Department, serving as a Lieutenant on Rescue Company #2. Steve has over 26 years of technical rescue experience, is a state certified instructor and holds an Associate Degree in Fire Science. He continues his passion with the fire service through teaching and sharing the skills and knowledge that were passed onto him while on the job.
Craig Parello
Craig is a 20 plus year member of the Milwaukee Fire Department and a United States Marine Corps veteran. Craig is currently assigned as a firefighter to Rescue Company #2. He as an extensive background in Truck and Rescue Operations. He has been an instructor for the Milwaukee Fire Departments Training Academy, the departments technical rescue team and a Hands-On-Instructor for FDIC in Indianapolis.
James Goodwin
James has been a member of the Milwaukee Fire Department since 2000, and currently is assigned as a firefighter to Rescue Company #2. In addition to serving as an instructor for Conway Shield, James delivers training in Rescue Company operations through the departments technical rescue team, professional development program and recruit training.
Logan Dietsche
Logan is a Firefighter with the Milwaukee Fire Department currently assigned to Rescue Company #2. He is a member of the departments technical rescue team and an instructor for both the rope and confined space rescue component of the team. In addition to his responsibilities within the department, he is a technical rescue instructor at the State of Wisconsin’s REACT center with an emphasis in the rope and confined space fields, as well as an instructor for private industry entities within the City of Milwaukee. Logan is also a 4 year veteran of the United States Army serving as an Infantryman with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Nick Poliak
Nick is a 18-year veteran of the Milwaukee Fire Department and currently serves in the rank of Captain. He is a member of the departments technical rescue team and is the lead instructor for heavy vehicle rescue and advanced elevator rescue operations. He has been and adjunct instructor for the departments recruit classes, battalion trainings, and departmental in-services.
Mike Bellanger
Mike has been a member of the Milwaukee Fire Department for the last 17 years. He currently serves as a driver on Rescue Company #2 and is a member of the department's technical rescue team. An active instructor for the department, Mike teaches classes in rope rescue, firefighter survival, aerial and pumper operations. He is a proud veteran of the USMC where he served as CH-46 Helicopter Crew Chief. Mike currently provides classes in firefighter development with an emphasis on technical rescue operations for the Conway Shield Training Division.
